Everyone on the internet has their two cents they want to put in regarding current events. With Trump now being in office, most of the articles I found were about Trump or relating to politics. I hate hearing about politics but with all the opinion articles online I couldn’t seem to get away from them. Since I couldn’t get away from them, 2 articles I found had pretty funny titles so I decided to just roll with it.

Surviving four years of Trump’s huge ego and incurious mind by David Horsey

Although this article discussed a serious matter that will affect us all (and each person differently) I thought this was a humorous article. He talks about different things that Trump has said and what he hopes the next four years will be like with Trump as our president.

Many people think that many things can go wrong with having Donald Trump as our president. “How bad will it be?” the writer asks. Well he hopes it’ll be an uncomfortable embarrassment, comparing it to that drunk uncle who grabs the microphone during a toast and won’t let it go. Trying to boost his own ego, Trump claims he worked harder in this election than any candidate has ever worked and that his win was so huge that the electoral maps displayed “a sea of Republican red with just a few tiny dots of Democratic blue.”

This article appeals to me because it is witty and pokes fun at Donald Trump, a man who I really don’t like. I don’t think the article is too biased. It’s main goal is to poke fun at Trump and things he has said rather than give facts. It has done this in a way that it has actually made me enjoy reading a news related article. Based on the fact that I got through the whole article without wanting to run away from it, I think this article was very successful.

Right away, this article got me interested in reading on. She opens with the part of Donald Trump’s rant at his inauguration where he spoke about the weather.

Trump goes on to say,

“It was almost raining,” the new president told CIA workers in Langley, recounting his inaugural address, “but God looked down and he said, we’re not going to let it rain on your speech. In fact, when I first started, I said, oh, no. The first line, I got hit by a couple of drops. And I said, oh, this is too bad, but we’ll go right through it. But the truth is that it stopped immediately. It was amazing. And then it became really sunny. And then I walked off and it poured right after I left. It poured.”

Immediately I’m thinking, “Why Donald Trump? Why we do we care?” After reading the next paragraph, the title of this article becomes funnier to me. The writer says that it started to rain and become overcast yet Trump declared that it was “really sunny.” Similar to the first article, I think this one has the same amount of biased and is on the same spectrum of liking/disliking Trump. They wrote this to make it sound like Donald Trump is an idiot (which is true) and therefore making the next 4 years potentially really terrifying with having him in charge.

As you’re able to tell from the title, this is definitely an opinion based article because everyone who reads this is not going to agree with every place to travel to as one of the “best places” for traveling.

Just by scrolling through and not reading the article, I think it is a successful piece right away. They have beautiful high quality photographs of each place on their list and by images alone it makes me want to consider going there (if only I had the money to). Since this is strictly opinion based I would say this list is biased. However this piece is also successful because they have descriptions of why you should visit each place. Each description is long enough to describe why you should go but short enough where they won’t lose my attention. This post is trustworthy because they have external links to specific things they talk about for each place.

Totoro Inspired Makeup

We all love the magical Studio Ghibli characters. In this makeup look, we are going to transform into Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro. By the end of this look, you’ll be ready to go on an adventure!

To begin, gather the makeup items listed below. Feel free to replace or opt out any of the products I’m using.

Face Products

  • Elf face primer
  • Urban Decay all nighter foundation
  • Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer
  • Hard Candy highlight/contour stick
  • Elf pink blush
  • Tony Moly Cat’s Wink clear pact
  • Elf eyebrow dip
  • white or light pink highlighter
  • light pink lip color of your choice

Eye Products

  • Elf eyeshadow palette- we will be using a light grey and a darker grey eyeshadow
  • Elf liquid eyeliner
  • Maybelline Miss Manga Mascara
  • False eyelashes/eyelash glue

Tools

  • Beauty Blender
  • foundation brush

Once all of the materials have been gathered, we are ready to transform into a mythical forest sprite!

Step 1: Primer

Take your choice of face primer and put a dime sized amount and use your fingers or a beauty blender to pat it all over your face. Wait 2-5 minutes for the primer to settle into your skin before moving onto the next step.

Step 2: Light Eyeshadow

Using a large eyeshadow brush, apply the lighter grey eyeshadow all over your lid.

Step 3: Darker Eyeshadow

Use a thin eyeshadow brush to outline the shape of the darker eyeshadow and fill in. Refer to picture for shape.

Step 4: Foundation

(Optional: spray your beauty blender with a moisture spray. I recommend Tony Moly Pocket Bunny. This will help your foundation apply and look smoother.)

Take the foundation and put one pump of it on the top of your hand. Dip the beauty blender into the foundation and use the flat side to pat the foundation on your face. Make sure you cover all your face evenly.

Step 5: Concealer

Put some concealer on your finger and dab 3 small dots under each eye. Blend in upward using the pointed size of the beauty blender

Step 6: Contour (Optional)

If you are uncomfortable with trying to contour, you may skip this step. If you are unsure how to contour, look online for a contour face map that fits your face shape.

Take the darker color for contouring and contour your cheekbones and your forehead. Use the lighter color to highlight underneath your cheekbones, the middle of your forehead and down the middle of your nose. Wait a minute or two before blending the highlight and contour together with your beauty blender.

Step 7: Blush

Take your blush and using a brush, dab it on your cheekbones going upward.

Step 8: Eyebrows

Outline and fill in your desired eyebrow shape with your choice of eyebrow dip.

Step 9: Setting powder

Take a large foundation brush and use it to apply the Tony Moly clear pact in a circular motion all over your face.

Step 10: Lip color

Before applying lip color, I like to put on a thin layer of lip balm. Take your choice of lip color and apply it to your lips. Use a q-tip to remove any excess lip color.

Step 11: Eyeliner

Apply your liquid eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger, this technique will vary with eye shape. See picture for ideas! For my look, I will be doing a cat eye since Totoro looks cat-like.

Step 12: Mascara

Take the Miss Manga Mascara and apply it with the wand to all your top and lower lashes.

Step 13: Fake Eyelashes

Apply a thin layer of glue to the strip on an eyelash and wait 20-30 seconds before placing it near your lash line.

 

Ta-da! Your magical look is complete! Throw on some gear to fully transform into a forest sprite and you’re ready to go on an adventure!

They created a senario-based quiz that would require the dealers to identify the qualifying customer. If they identify them correctly, they have to explain the brand story and car features in order to make a sale.

Overall, the two studies had different things they were trying to accomplish through their e-learning experience. Both of them wanted the learner to take control of their learning and for them to be engaged in their experience.

Learning Style Results

I agree with this test saying I am a visual learner. When trying to remember certain information in classes in high school, I would try to picture an image that was being shown during a powerpoint with what information was being said. If trying to use flashcards, I would try to visually picture the word and associate the definition with it.

I also agree wth the results of the VARK test. I tend to associate what is being said by a teacher with what is being shown on the screen or what I can see visually. My aural and read/write scores are the same which make sense for me because it is easier for me to remember information when hearing and write down the info at the same time.
